How Do I Review and Leave Feedback in a BugHerd Link?
A quick guide to submitting project feedback and comments through BugHerd.
What Is BugHerd?
BugHerd is a visual feedback tool that lets you comment directly on a live preview of your project. Instead of describing changes over email, you click on the exact spot on the page and tell us what you'd like updated — whether that's a text edit, an image swap, or a general comment about the design.
Opening Your BugHerd Link
Simply click the link to open the preview of your project.
You'll see a small BugHerd icon in the bottom-right corner of the page. This is your feedback menu — click it any time you want to leave a comment.
Note: If this is the first time you're using the link, you may be asked to install the free BugHerd browser extension for Chrome. This only takes a moment and is a one-time step — once installed, you won't need to do it again.
Leaving Your First Comment
- Click the BugHerd icon in the bottom-right corner.
- Click on the '+' to Add Feedback
- Click anywhere on the page where you'd like to leave feedback — for example, directly on a logo, image, or block of text.
- You'll be asked to enter your name and email the first time you comment, so we know who left the feedback.
- Type your comment in the box that appears (for example, "Please update this logo").
- Click create task, and that's it! Your comment is now on our end for review.
The very first time you leave feedback, BugHerd will walk you through a short guided tour so you can see exactly how it works — no need to memorize anything in advance.
Types of Feedback You Can Leave
BugHerd gives you a few different ways to share what you're thinking:
- Point-and-click comments: Click directly on any element (image, text, button) and describe the change you'd like.
- Text edit suggestions: Highlight text on the page and suggest a specific rewording.
- General page feedback: Have an overall comment that isn't tied to one specific spot (like "I'm not loving the color scheme")? You can leave that as a page-level comment instead of pinning it to one element.
- Screen recordings: Prefer to talk it through? You can record your screen and voice directly within BugHerd to explain an issue or request — great for anything that's easier to show than describe.
What Happens After You Submit Feedback
Once you submit a comment, it's automatically sent to our team for review. There's nothing further you need to do — we'll review your feedback, get to work on the requested changes, and follow up if we have any questions or need more information from you.
A Few Tips
- You can leave as many comments as you'd like on a single page — there's no limit.
- If you don't have the BugHerd Chrome extension installed, you may be prompted to add it before your first comment. It's free and only takes a minute.
- Feedback left through BugHerd goes straight to our team, so there's no need to also send a follow-up email — though you're always welcome to reach out!
