How do I create an internal Google Ads account for Dental Marketing clients?

Step-by-step guide on creating Google Ads accounts internally for Dental Marketing clients.

Note: We prefer clients to create their own Google Ads accounts and send us access so they maintain ownership/access to the account. However, we can create accounts internally as a special circumstance, if needed.

  • Go to Google Ads at the MCC-level under your personal @donato log in > Settings > Sub-Account Settings > Click '+' > Click 'Create a New Account'
  • Name the account with the proper practice name and select the proper time zone per the website
    • Note: Some states span multiple time zones, so double-check the specific city on Google to ensure you select the correct time zone.
  • Create a new 'Organization' payment profile for the account and add the practice's CC (be sure not to select another account's payment profile)
  • Once the payment profile is approved by Google, go into the payment users and add "team@dentalmarketing.com" as a payment user
    • Set team@ as the primary contact and select 'Admin with All Permissions' and 'All Payments Emails' under the access options > Send the invite
  • Open up the team@ Gmail account and accept the payment user invite right away
  • Go back into the Google Ads account and make sure it shows that the payment user invite was accepted for team@ and accept the Terms & Conditions, if necessary
  • Remove your personal @donato email as a payment user once team@ has primary and admin
  • Add the client's email as an Admin user for account access and also as a payment user
    • Set them as the primary contact and select 'Admin with All Permissions' and 'All Payments Emails' under the access options > Send the invite
  • Notify the OB specialist or SA that 2 invites have been sent to the client's email for account access and payment user access
  • If there's an associated task for this request in HS, mark it as complete and add a comment confirming it has been completed
